Dahi Vada is very famous Chaat among all age groups . 

This is also known as Dahi Bhalla !

It’s a kind of Lentil Dumpling dunked into creamy yogurt with spicy & sweet and sour Chutney with masalas.

The chutneys can be made at home or Store brought.

It’s perfect soft & melt in mouth.

It’s full of flavor & super yummy. 

Next time when I will make Dahi Vadas,I will click all pics while making so that I can upload pictorial recipe.

Dahi Vada Recipe :-

Ingredients :-

1 cup dhuli Moong Daal( split & husked green gram )

1/2 cup dhuli Urad Daal ( split & husked black gram)

4 cups fresh thick yogurt beaten like creamy yogurt 

Oil for frying & tadka 

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

2 pinch of asafetida 

4 whole dry red chilly 

1/2 tbsp Red chilly powder 

1/2 tsp Black pepper powder

1 tbsp Cumin powder 

1 tbsp Chaat masala 

3 tbsp Chopped coriander 

1/8 tsp Black salt or to taste 

3-4 tbsp powdered sugar ( acc. to taste)

salt to taste 

Pomegranate ( optional )

Nylon sev for garnishing ( optional )

Method :-
Soaked 6-7hours, and make a paste ( don’t use much water ..Only use if needed)

Mix both the daal well to make it light and fluffy.

Add some salt & little oil ( 2 tbsp)again beat for some time.

Heat oil .. Give them a shape of your choice of Vadas.

Fry them in hot oil over medium heat Until become brownish then place in water.
(in a vessel add some Luke water after frying ,put vadas in water & fully cover with plate )

Now in a big bowl add yogurt & all other ingredients …& mix well !
( add or subtract any ingredient according to your taste )
( I added both the salt ) 

In a pan add 1 tbsp oil . As it heats add mustard seeds & Add 2 pinch of asafetida & whole dried chilly !

After clacking pour this mixture in Yogurt vessel carefully ! 
Give it a perfect stir .

Now your Dahi is ready for Vadas…!!

After some time Squeeze out the fried Vadas and arrange them on a serving dish.

Cover it with Dahi which we already made !!

Garnish with the rest of the cumin, coriander leaves, chilli powder,chaat masala.

You can also add pomegranate while serving !!

You can add any kind of Meethi or spicy chutney but it optional !
