Sabudana Vada Recipe :-

Ingredients :-

2 cup soaked Sabudana ( tapioca )
1.5 cup mashed boiled potatoes
2-3 tbsp chopped green chillies
1/2 cup roasted & crushed peanuts
1.5 tbsp red chilly powder or to heat tolerance
1 tsp cumin powder ( optional )
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
4-5 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
Sendha namak – a kind of salt used in food made during fasts. You can use regular salt if you are going to make as a regular snack.

Method :-

Firstly we will soak Sabudana for minimum 5 hours or you can soak it overnight ; if you want to make it in breakfast.

Now question is, how to soak perfectly?

In a big bowl add sabudana & add water , wash very well with the help of your hand.

Drain water ,again add some water & wash again & drain.

This is the my way of soaking sabudana.

Now we will soak sabudana,

Add water in sabudana…..water should be 1/2’inch (half inch )above sabudana layer .

You don’t need to drain after this !

Cover it & keep aside!

For 2 cups of soaked sabudana . wash 1 cup of raw sabudana.

After soaking it will be almost double in quantity.

Now after soaking …

In a big bowl add mashed or even you can grate boiled potatoes.

Now add crushed & coarsely roasted peanuts.

Add soaked Sabudana , chopped green Chilly , chopped coriander.

Add red chilly powder , black pepper powder, cumin powder & salt .

Mix very well with your hands .

Now heat oil in pan or Kadhahi over medium heat .

Now greese your palm with little oil,
Now take some portion of the mixture in your hands and shape them into flat round vadas or patties!

Do this till all the mixture is finished.

Deep fry these sabudana vadas in hot oil ….Slowly drop into the frying pan or Kadhai .

Turn them occasionally. Fry Vada until golden-brown all around.

Fry only 1 or 2 Vadas at the same time . Don’t add too much Vadas in Kadhai or pan.

Drain Sabudana vadas on kitchen towels to remove excess oil.

Now serve this with mint coriander chutney.
