Kheer is basically Indian Dessert or Indian Rice Pudding ,which made up off milk , sugar ,loads of Nuts & flavored by saffron !It’s very common in our indian home!
But on the other hands it’s little tricky to make perfect kheer !!
But yessss it’s easy to make perfect Kheer !!
Rich in taste
1/4 cup Rice (I used basmati rice )
1 liter milk
1/2 cup sugar or to taste
10 chopped almond
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
5-8 chopped Pistachios
Few saffron strands ( optional )
In a bowl take rice … Proper wash & drain …then let it soak for minimum 30 minutes .
Take milk in heavy bottomed pan.
Bring it to boil then add soaked rice & stir .
After some time around 2 minute,set flame over medium to low heat …stir time to time !!
When the rice cooked completely & you get your choice consistency of kheer ….
Turn off heat ..Add sugar ,cardamom powder & chopped dry fruits !!
Add few saffron strands !!
Mix well …& let it cover for 5 min !!
Ready to serve !!
Now it’s ready to serve !!
You can place this in fridge & enjoy chilled Kheer !!
You can also serve warm!!
While serving time If you find your kheer is thick.. No need to worry add some warm or cold milk !!
Mix well ..
On the other hand if you find your Kheer thin while cooking, no need to worry you can add cooked rice but if you are going to add raw rice .. Then you have to cook for more time until rice cooked Completely!!
