Basically it’s savory steamed cake😜

It goes perfect with imli ki chutney or Mint Coriander Chutney or Fried Green chillies !!

My all family love this instant & healthy snack..but especially my Papa … He is big fan of Khaman Dhokla ❤️

Khaman Dhokla Recipe :-

For Batter:

1 cup Besan ( Gram Flour)

1/4 cup yogurt

1/2 tsp powdered sugar

1tsp lemon juice

1tsp Eno Fruit Salt( regular)

1tsp crushed Green Chilli-Ginger

1/2cup or little more Water

1tsp oil

1tsp Oil (for greasing)

2 pinch of turmeric

1/2 tsp or to taste Salt
For Tempering:

2 tsp Oil

1tsp Mustard Seeds

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

Curry leaves

4 Green Chillies, slit lengthwise and cut into halves
For Garnishing

Fried green chillies

Coriander leaves


In a big bowl add besan & yogurt.. Mix !!

Add lemon juice , crushed green chillies & ginger ,turmeric ,salt ,sugar ,oil & Luke warm water & mix in one direction & make smooth lump free batter !!

Now grease your Dhokla Tray … & put your cooker with water or something in which you are going to steam your Dhokla .. On gas.. !!
Now at last add Eno fruit salt ..mix well !!

Then pour this mixture into Dhokla Tray or thali ( plate)!

No air should be there in your tray or thali … !!

Make sure that steamer is at least 4-5 minutes heated before placing the tray or thali( plate )

Now let it steam for 15 min or check with skewer inserted in the middle & check in other places too if comes out clean.. That’s means now it’s ready for tempering …

Now remove this tray from Cooker..!

For tempering :-
add little oil in a pan add mustard & cumin seeds some curry leaves , silted green chillies !!

Let it crackle .. Now pour this mixture on Dhokla tray & evenly spread all over …&Garnish by fried green chillies & coriander leaves!!
